Dr. Vincent Bellonzi is a chiropractor and is certified in Clinical Nutrition. He has been in practice for over 12 years. He received his Doctorate from Los Angeles College of Chiropractic in 1991.

Since 1998, Dr. Bellonzi has practiced in the Austin area. He works with athletes at every level to provide sports conditioning and rehabilitation.

    Fast food is toxic just from the hydrogenated fats, chemicals and low nutritional density. Don’t eat it. Even if you are losing weight because of smaller portions, it does matter where those calories are coming from b/c the result will be a thinner, but still unhealthy you.

    I’ve lost weight …
    I’ve lost weight through eating kids’ meals at fast food places (Wendys’ is the best) during lunch breaks and ate asian foods for dinner. For breakfast it was a protein shake. Just eating three times a day has helped me. I’ve tried eating smaller meals through out the day, it worked, but only for awhile, then I started to do the old tradition of three meals a day and it worked. I could see why people in the ’50s were so thin. Kids’ meals today were adult meals then and the food weren’t fatty.

    Dr. Bellonzi is decribing a well known diet that is very successful already; it is called the south beach diet.

    The success of south beach diet depends on glycemic index. Rule of thumb: always choose low glycemic index foods with good carb. Phase one of South Beach Diet consist of low glycemic food. In later phase, you can mix foods with higher glycemic numbers.

    I guess all diets aren’t bad after all.

    A friend said she lost weight taking a supplement called Calm at night–I think it has Calcium and Magnesium. Can you comment on that?

    This is just excellent info. I wish I had someone to talk to about my problems for help?!
    It’s not always about over eating or eating the wrong things…after my last bought with cancer, I have been experiencing many problems and it’s left me without better heath care and money is a big factor when you are just getting by, doesn’t leave room for doing and having the right things…Oh well, not ranting - just wishful thinking!

    Sometimes people’s body’s have built up toxins which cause them not to burn fat.

    Also, muscle tissue is more dense than fat, so it weights more. If you are getting smaller the exercise is working. You have less fat and more muscle.

    I’m exercising VERY heavily for over 45 minutes a day, getting smaller, but not losing weight, and eating mostly right- low glycemic index food –zone-ish–except drinking wine, and I’ll say too much wine–a product of quitting smoking. I’m 48, help.–? please?

    ACG is a hormone that he uses in his weight loss program. It kick starts the body into burning fat.

    Cedar grove refers to cedar trees which some people have an allergic reaction to. A healthy body with a large organ reserve can handle allergens and toxins much better than an unhealthy body with no organ reserve.
